The Shadow Knows

Matt Chambliss is an amazing human!

The Shadow Knows

I give no Damn about your skin, your politics, or your god, or the label you wear

Whether you piss standing up or sitting down or standing on your head

I can see the surface, but want to know the Depth

I listen for the sound of your Soul, the cadence of your Being

This is how I know if you are my brother, my sister

Our resonance creates a chord never heard before, and can never be broken

This is where the Truth abides

Not in the twisted words taught to us by others

Nor in the cartooned caricatures created in the Shadow’s cauldron

Political poison piped into perception

Demon demographic stereotype divides and diffuses differentiation

Soul’s Self, lost, loose, looking for Ground

Begging Shadow Masters for answers, for the Way

Pseudo Saviors selling Salvation on contracts signed in blood

Frantic fault finding on shaky foundations eager to see the Other fall

Groups grasping, greedy to fix the blame, to fill the gaping gaps

Hordes of Borg, Zombies, Children of the Beast devouring

Soul surrendered to the Mob’s Mind

Repeating, bleating out messages . . . downloaded

For the Shadow has cast It’s net wide while we yet slumbered

Reaching for the Real in the wrong direction

Straining against the ropes woven from our fear

Anger rises and is projected, reflected by the Shadow onto our very Kin

We create our own prison and stand guard least someone dare cross the lines

Not conforming to your demographic the only Mortal Sin

Choose a side to cheer for in this Devil’s Dance

Be My enemy so you can have Yours too

The bizarre sadomasochism of our human race speeding around the Track

A Game we pretend not to notice yet we find ourselves back in line again and again

Sometimes Dominant, Sometimes Submissive depending on the dice roll

Never noticing or begrudging the Shadowy Game Masters’ profit

Others accounting for our losses, yet we continue to play

Hellfire’s hate heats the cauldron from whence comes our enchantment

We fight against the very freedom we claim while blaming another for our Fate

The Shadow knows, and by our rage It’s power grows

Our struggle is not with each other

But with the Web which entangles us

So I lay down my arms

I surrender our Feud

You are not my enemy or my captor, nor am I yours

I am My own

Let us not become mired in differences of language or conjured constructs planted in our minds

Truth lives not in the idea About a thing but in the thing Itself

Come and see the Truth of Me, show me Yours

For the Babble is upon us and we are scattered

Fighting friends, not long forgotten Foe

Babylon is Risen

The Dark Sorcery still practiced, hidden in view

But even our disagreement create currents that can link us, teach us, set us free from folly

Your Soul’s rebellion and mine are the same, we are One

Freedom calls from our depths seeking our Awakening

You are unique in all of Creation, no mere articulation of Another’s will

I would know You and for you to know Me

Let us turn away from the fray that Blinds us

Let us seek that which might Bind us together

For the Shadow knows, and fears nothing except Us United and Unafraid
