        • 🙂 thank you for the idea. I am not much of an artist. My daughter did these. She is 16 and had the idea of describing different emotions with the paintings. Since I have posted them I have heard that generally those kind of paintings are left without labels. I guess so people can draw their own conclusions. The truth about my response to them was pride cause she is my baby. 🙂 I am not very objective. She is a deep creative human though and I enjoy watching her soul blossom. Again thank you for for kind attention to her work. Plato

  1. The face is cool…and maybe lonely. But the buildings are even more lonely…I like the buildings most, they add such flavor. I mean, where is the woman standing? Is she going to jump?

    • OML, Fish! Talk about looking deeply into a picture… What an observation. I was looking at the surface. You were looking at the innards. That’s quite an art lesson.

  2. The contrast between the city colors and the Lonely Girl make this piece. The only highlight is her hair. I love the subtlety of watercolor. Is she using liquid water colors or cakes and mixing her pallet? Sorry, I art geeked all over you. Good morning dear Plato!

      • A sculptor, not a painter, so it was the wrong pallet instead of palette. I used to paint a long time ago. You know the Prang water color set that was a part of every school year http://www.prang.com/art/paints/watercolors/oval-sets Eight classic color cakes that come with a paint brush. We used to mix the colors on the lid and use paper towels to blot the dripping water on the heavy water color paper, changing cups of water as the paint grew dark and murky. I’d love to see you paint your muse/soul. She is held captive by you. some days she leaks out other days she roars to the surface.splashing the walls with color while remaining transparent. Okay like a bass line in a song. ever present -a foundation to build upon that you feel as the melody rises above and compliments your core.

Have a good day! I’m going to play with Girlie and teach her the color red today. Maybe.

          • Its fun to sketch a basic outline then paint outside the lines with watercolor. Better than acrylic paint or egg tempera. Close to ink painting. Thanks for the idea. Reminded that I can do that and not hurt.

      • Good. My students have tubes of every color known to man and blink at me when I suggest they make a color. I’m not a good painter, but I like to see the building of skills and technique.

  3. Look at the facial expression on her… Those eyes and lips are so haunting and sad. She makes amazing poetry with her hands. There’s so much soul there. Please tell her I said it conveys a real depth of feeling.
