Alabama Summer

Standard

The cooling moist grassy fragrance of a Summer’s rain

After the heat that surrounded and suffocated like a blanket

Now, the frogs voice their vibrant chorus as the Sun slowly fades, falling into the West

While Nature slows and settles down into the dark stillness of Night

  1. Close your eyes are you are there, how beautiful your words are. Not being able to sleep yet I am so glad I looked in and found your words never know, I might sleep yet and dream. (Hope you are keeping well).

Beautiful imagery, Plato! “The cooling moist grassy fragrance of a Summer’s rain.” Love that! I do enjoy how the peepers, who go silent in early summer sing a bit after a rain, like thanking the sky. Have a lovely, cool weekend.
    Peace

  3. “surrounded and suffocated like a blanket” Oh how I remember those hot, muggy afternoons and evenings… It felt just like that. “settles down into” Love the imagery. Makes me wanna go sit outside on a porch with a glass of tea and watch lightning bugs. (Are there lightning buts in Alabama???)

    Beautiful, soft, and sultry… 😉
